Alternatives have developed a range of training options based on our experience in supporting individuals around pregnancy choices and pregnancy and child loss. We deliver in house training to all our team members and also support local agencies in the provision of support.
As an organisation committed to continual learning and development we invest heavily in team training and supervision and are committed to sharing our knowledge and experience with our partners and other similar agencies, hoping in turn to learn from them.
Our training is based on our aims and values, affirming the autonomy of our clients and respecting the dignity, uniqueness and with of all clients in line with the COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy Scotland) ethics and code of practice.

Alternatives believe that the provision of good supervision is vital to enable the best support for individuals who receive our service. We host a bi monthly supervision group, open to practioners working in similar areas where we can share issues and themes we are working with and provide encouragement and support to one another in a confidential and safe way. We also invite outside agencies to share training during these sessions.
