Children in Care
Birth parents are parents whose children who are no longer in their care. This may be because your children have been released for adoption, or because they have been removed from your care. Losing the care of your child is life-changing.
If this is something you have experienced you may feel very alone and may feel like your purpose or meaning in life is gone. It may seem as though you have lost your identity and wonder about your future.
Our team understand that birth parents can be left with complicated feelings of loss which are often hidden or secret.
Many birth parents want a place where they can talk about their children and about what has happened to them with someone out with their situation.
Alternatives have a specialist team of counsellors who can support birth parents through loss, offering compassionate support. We don’t judge you or tell you what you should think or feel.
