School Counsellor – Braeview Academy (22 hours per week)

This is an exciting post for a qualified counsellor to join our growing youth counselling team and our expansion into Counselling in Schools. We are a non-hierarchical and passionate team, who aim to create a working environment where team members are supported both in their clinical work and their wellbeing. We are looking for an individual who has experience of working with and counselling young people (aged 12-18) to be the best version of themselves. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is a team player, innovative, creative, open-minded and who loves working with young people.

The post will involve working with young people who attend Braeview Academy. The post holder will be expected to deliver counselling onsite at school, but if necessary for the young person, counselling may also be delivered in our city centre office, in the community or remotely via telephone or video call. It will also be expected for the counsellor (if they do not already hold this) to complete a Children and Young People’s counselling course which will be funded by Alternatives but completed over 4 weekends in their own time. (Dates will be confirmed upon appointment of the role). Clinical supervision will also be provided for this role in keeping with our ethical practice framework and our COSCA Organisational Membership.
