What’s next?
Initial Appointment
A team member will get back to you through email or text to arrange an initial appointment. This will normally be a telephone appointment. We will ask you some questions and find out how things have been. we will ask you what your hopes are for counselling. You can also find out a bit more about the service. After that we will match you with one of our team who will work with you from then on. During the initial appointment you will agree with the counsellor if you will have appointments in person, or through secure videocall or telephone appointments.
Waiting list
After that we will match you with one of our team who will work with you from then on. At the moment there is a wait of about two months from the initial appointment to begin working with a counsellor.
Beginning counselling
Most clients work with their counsellor for around 12 weekly sessions. Your counsellor will agree with you the time of your session. Please be ready at your arranged time so that you can get the most from your session. All appointments last for 50-minutes. we ask that you let us know 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment so this does not impact on the number of sessions you can have.
It is normal to feel anxious about starting counselling. Your counsellor understands this and will support you.
And that’s it. Make a cup of tea. Talk to us. We’re listening.
